John McCain – No Conservative

And Kathy over at Hang Right Politics has the goods:

Republican special interests? That would be those of us who believe in the Constitution including free speech and gun rights… Those are the special interests that McCain has ’snubbed’. In light of his scorched earth policy one wonders how he expects those whose concerns he either ignored or combatted outright to respond to his candidacy?

There is an “Anybody But McCain” faction in our party who aren’t willing to allow the Washington Post and the liberal media to choose the republican candidate. If anyone wonders how a male Hillary would act and talk – look at John McCain.

If the country is intent on electing a liberal, then it shouldn’t be from the GOP. Liberal policies always backfire and lay the groundwork for a strong conservative comeback, if the liberal is in the GOP our party can’t make a ‘comeback’. Running someone like McCain whose temperament, judgment, and allegiances are not consistent with conservatism will be a devastating blow to our party.

McCain has split the party proudly. He has called the religious right ‘agents of intolerance’. He has no use for conservatives. The only conservatives who would support this guy must be suffering from Stockholm Syndrome or battered wife syndrome or some other masochistic malady. He has shown us who he is, there is no mystery. We ignore that at our own peril.

  1. John McCain is a patriot and I respect his military service to his country, however, he is not a conservative. He’s a Democrat in disguise. His “accomplishments” include:
    1. McCain-Feingold: expansive government regulation of the of political campaign speech in contradiction to the First Amendment. Supreme Court Justices Antonin Scalia, Clarence Thomas, John Roberts and Sam Alito consider his signature achievement outright unconstitutional if not constitutionally dubious, at best.
    2. Bush/McCain/Kennedy Immigration Bill: nothing less than amnesty for 15-20 million illegal aliens already in the US. This bill was defeated only because of the outrage expressed by the American people.
    3. McCain/Lieberman legislation empowering Congress to comprehensively regulate U.S. industries’ emissions of greenhouse gases. McCain proclaimed, “the debate has ended”, concerning the question of whether human activity is causing catastrophic warming.
    4. McCain has teamed with Kennedy and John Edwards – a trial lawyer dedicated to an expansion of opportunities for litigation – on the “patients’ bill of rights.”
    5. McCain voted against the Bush tax cuts in 2001 which have had a tremendous positive effect on our economy.
    6. McCain is for setting price controls on US pharmaceutical companies. In the New Hampshire debate, McCain asserted that corruption is the reason drugs currently cannot be re-imported into the US from Canada. When Mitt Romney interjected, “Don’t turn the pharmaceutical companies into the big bad guys,” McCain replied, “Well, they are.”
    7. McCain put together the “Gang of 14” which aborted Republican attempts to force an up-or-down vote on conservative Supreme Court nominees.
    8. In 2004, John Kerry, one of the most liberal senators in office, considered McCain running as his vice presidential running mate. Why is McCain such a favorite of Democrats Kerry, Kennedy, Feingold, Lieberman, Edwards and the liberal press? They all view him as a Republican who rejects important Republican principles.

There are many more reasons why John McCain should not represent the Republican Party but those listed above should be enough for people to watch out for the fox guarding the henhouse.

  3. By the Grace of God…CONSERVATIVES UNITE!
    Vote for Mitt Romney!
Mitt made his money honestly, unlike McCain who married into it.
McCain is a wolf in sheep’s clothing, a Liberal time bomb waiting to go off!!!
Why else does the Media say nothing good about Romney and nothing bad about McCain?????
McCain, Obama and Billary are all THE SAME!!!!!
Fact-if nothing else, the President elected over the past 50 years always has the best hair…so that would be Mitt.

    • Romney – a conservative???!!! Have you lost your mind?! What other “conservative” do you know that went WAY of his way to campaign for Bob Bennett in Utah?? ‘Conservative’- not by a looooong shot!!!
