At least the Black Eyed Peas can take that as an accomplishment
Very controversial, eh? I guess reminding people that many babies like those who grew up to be the President are aborted every single day.
1. Congratuations to Serena Williams on her 10th Grand Slam win
She beat Dinara Safina to win the 2009 Australian Open in a very decisive manner, winning the first set 6-0. The closed out the thing in 54 minutes by winning the second set 6-3. And joining a very elite club of women who have won double-digit number of majors.
Oh, and just to keep in shape she and her sister won the Women’s Doubles championship too.
2. Rafal Nadal beats Roger Federer in 5 sets to win the Men’s Championship
Four absolutely wonderful sets of tennis between the top two men’s tennis players today. The fifth set got away from Roger and he went down rather meekly 6-2 in the last set, but this match was filled with superb shotmaking, impossiblle angles, and incredible gets.
3. A Really Super Super Bowl
The longest play in Super Bowl History (interception runback for touchdown of 100 yards), two lead changes with less than 4 minutes to play in the game, the biggest comeback in the game’s history (from 13 points down by the Cardinals)–what more could you want from the final game?
And while the Steelers won, the Cardinals have nothing to hang their heads about. Other than allowing that stupid touchdown right before the half that cost them the game. (My wife and I were pulling for Arizona).
No wonder it was hard to get up this morning.
