In the early morning hours of Sunday, March 23, twelve Muslim men met quietly at a mosque in the Iraqi province of Diyala, perhaps to bid their final farewells to friends and family. Their nose hairs trimmed, monobrows plucked, and testicles cleanly shaven in accordance with Holy Quran, they had prepared themselves to make a dignified journey into the afterlife. Suddenly, and without even reading them their rights, Coalition Forces stormed the building and gunned them down in cold blood.
Where is the outrage?
Most of us would be appalled if U.S. soldiers burst in and mowed down our ailing grandmother just as Dr. Kevrokian was hooking her up to his wonderful gizmo. Yet no one bats an eye when it happens to TWELVE innocent – and let’s not forget suicidal men. If the gung-ho, trigger-happy, baby-killing fascists had just practiced a little self-restraint and waited another hour or two, they could’ve saved themselves a lot of time and valuable ammo. But thanks to our troops, twelve members of the Muslim community were denied Death With Dignity, and 876 virgins are now standing in the unemployment line.
Now imagine you’re a Jewish country, wherein the prevailing attitude is to value life, and on your borders are a large population that embraces a philosophy in which death trumps.
Seems to me that building a wall is the most moderate approach that comes to mind.
Israel was getting about one suicide bombing per day.
Then they start building a separation barrier, and while the world kvetched and moaned about how terrible this was, the number of suicide bombers and other attacks dropped to almost nothing.
Ayman Taha, a spokesman for Hamas, the terrorist organization popularly elected by the Palestinians, praised the bombing as a “glorious act.”
So, just to make sure we’re clear, walking up to unarmed, unsuspecting civilians and blowing them up is “glorious.”
It is so “glorious” in fact that in Gaza, gunmen fired in the air and relatives of the bombers passed out sweets to celebrate the murders, according to the Associated Press.
This was the same reaction much of the Palestinian populous had right after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. They showed the celebration on the TV news for about a minute before it vanished forever into the mist of political expediency.

Please re-open the border to the transit of petrochemicals so that we can get back to the important work at hand: Terrorizing the 1.5 million souls trapped in Gaza under our guns, unprovoked rocket and sniper fire into your country – which really shouldn’t be a country at all, but we’ll be getting around to that in good time – and generally making things miserable for all concerned. Everywhere.
PS – The kids are coming along nicely. We’re hoping to get them over to your place soon.
Actually no – the world would condemn the use of horses and dogs as bomb carriers. But children? Not an issue. After all the Religion of Peace (TM) has lots of them. A few in bits and pieces won’t make any difference.
TV shows and textbooks to indoctrinate Palestinian and other Arab kids into a violent ideology are being produced on a huge scale in Jordan, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia – and instead of demanding that this incitement end and that Arab leaders begin preparing their people for peace, world leaders call upon Israel to give up the Golan Heights and the West Bank – as if living on one piece of land as opposed to another leads inexorably to suicidal, murderous impulses.
“The root cause of suicide bombing is indoctrination of children towards a violent ideology, [and] what we’re seeing now is the product of fifteen years of hate education,” Ms. Goldstein says. “If any government strapped bombs on horses or dogs and sent them out into civilian populations to be detonated, the world would be outraged.”
