The majority of Americans don’t want Obamacare. The majority of Coloradans don’t want Obamacare. So what does Colorado’s appointed Senator want?
Four Senate Democrats wrote Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), asking him to revive the public option in the Senate’s healthcare bill.Sen. Michael Bennet (D-Colo.) called on Reid to reintroduce the public option into the healthcare debate through the budget reconciliation process, which would short-circuit filibuster rules and allow Democrats to pass a bill with a simple majority in the Senate.
“Although we strongly support the important reforms made by the Senate-passed health reform package, including a strong public option would improve both its substance and the public’s perception of it,” Bennet wrote to Reid in a letter cosigned by Sens. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.), Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.), and Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio).
So cramming something the American people want down their throats is soon to be ex-Senator Bennet’s idea of a campaign strategy. And let’s make sure to start on this path to “nationalization of US healthcare” by bypassing normal Senate rules and doing it through a budget reconciliation process.
I certainly hope that Colorado knocks this schmuck down. And its funny, because if he gets what he wants you can almost guarantee he will get booted. If the whole Obamacare fiasco fades into the mists he might have a better chance.
Senator Jim DeMint is running a money bomb for Florida Senate candidate Mark Rubio. This is important for two reasons.
1 – Mark Rubio is running against a classic RINO in Charlie Crist – the current governor of Florida. While Mark has gone ahead in the polls, we need to keep the pressure on for him in order to block andy comeback by Charlie Crist.
2 – Jim DeMint is getting a lot of pressure from the Republican Party mukety-mucks about his support of Mark Rubio. Charlie Crist was the “chosen one” by the Senate Republican Committee – and the fact that one of their own is going against the Party leadership means that we need to support Jim DeMint in order to show him and the leaders that we are not going to put up with RINOs any more.
Please give what you can – and I have myself.
Update: they have blown past 100K and are closing in on $150K. Please help out if you can.
In his comments today urging his fellow Senators to waste $1 trillion of your money, John Kerry* made the following slip:
I’ve supported many tax cuts over the years, and there are tax cuts in this proposal. But a tax cut is non-targeted.
If you put a tax cut into the hands of a business or family, there’s no guarantee that they’re going to invest that or invest it in America.
They’re free to go invest anywhere that they want if they choose to invest.
It is rare that Democrats actually come out against freedom in actual words – although every action they take is to limit dangerous things like personal liberty.
We all know from his failed Presidential campaign that John Kerry is an elitist snob who tends to marry money (big fracking gobs of it), so he is obviously much more qualified than any American family to spend their money wisely. After all, he got elected Senator didn’t he? Doesn’t that confer upon him Olympian powers of wisdom?
* John Kerry may or may not have been in Cambodia, but he did serve in Vietnam before throwing some kind of medals over the fence of the White House.
