The Merrill Lynch Marxist

Here’s an obituary from the Democratic Communist People’s Republic Pravda:

Third-party political activist Peter Camejo, a perennial candidate for state and national office who helped pioneer the financial market niche of socially responsible investments, died Saturday. He was 68.

He helped found the California Green Party in 1991 and ran three times for governor of California. He also ran as independent Ralph Nader’s vice presidential running mate in the 2004 presidential election in which President Bush won a second term. In 1976 he ran for president as the Socialist Workers Party candidate.

Mr. Camejo described himself as a watermelon – red on the inside, green on the outside.

OK – so here’s somebody who was admittedly a Communist/Socialist – who actually RAN as the Socialist Workers Party candidate for President in 1976.  Now who was running from the Democrat side in 1976? Here’s a little tidbit from the current Socialist Workers Party obit:

Peter used the campaign to fight for the idea that the great historical stumbling block to the building of any genuine revolutionary alternative organization was the misplaced hope that the Democratic Party could be taken over by the left and used as a vehicle to advance toward socialism.

Surprisingly, even among socialists in the U.S. in the 1960s and 1970s, this idea was in the minority, as the Communist Party, many Maoist groups and the forerunners of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA)–Sen. Bernie Sanders being their most prominent member–backed Democrat Jimmy Carter for president.

So this person who believed that the Democrats were too “reactionary” to implement a true revolution in the United States then does what?  Well, first he decides to get a job with Merrill Lynch:

Matt Gonzalez, a former San Francisco supervisor who is running for vice president with Nader as an independent, said that Mr. Camejo once told him that when he interviewed for his job at Merrill Lynch, “the only thing that was true on my resume was my name and phone number.”

And he ended up his life as a capitalist fund manager – but it was GREEN!

Mr. Camejo earned his living as a financier and helped start an investment firm, Progressive Management Asset Inc. in Oakland. Clients can arrange their portfolios so that their investments, for example, are not linked to animal testing, weapons or sweatshop labor.

So we say adieu to someone who provably spent his life working for the overthrow of America and Democracy.  And please note – founder of the California Green Party.  A self-described Watermelon.  Thereby giving us further information about why opposing the EcoFreaks is also a good idea.

Someone who’s whole life was given over to everything I personally oppose.  And will continue to work in opposition.

And this self-described environmentalist fraud and communist is lauded in the pages of a “major” newspaper?  Sort of tells one where their sensibilities lie too.

Educrats Screwing Up Schools – Item 23,448

Oh the wonderful education to soon take place in the Democratic Communist People’s Republic of San Francisco:

San Francisco Superintendent Carlos Garcia took a first stab at putting his mark on city schools Tuesday with a plan that pushes the district to face racism and classism head on.

The district’s strategic plan adopted by the school board 6-0 Tuesday night focuses on reversing the typical academic outcomes for black, Hispanic and poor students.

Yes – it is so much more important to face racism and classism (are you kidding me? I haven’t heard this word much before) than do that ugly stuff like actually teaching kids to read and write and cipher. *aside* Does anybody actually know their guzintas any more? Jethro Bodine on the Beverly Hillbillies knew his guzintas. Four guzinta eight two times!

So racism and classism will now be the one true focus for the young commies in training. And just what does this mean? Well, here’s a few things mentioned in the article:

Each school will be judged by how well it “serves each and every student based on that school’s ability to disrupt the historically predictive power of racial, ethnic, linguistic and socio-economic student attributes,” according to the plan.

Successful programs would be identified and worked into other schools.

A scorecard will measure school and the district performance across a wide range of indicators including:

— “Percentage of schools that are fully integrated racially, ethnically and socio-economically.”

— “Percentage of SFUSD teachers with a district supplied laptop that is functional and has current software.”

— “Number and percentage of students who drop out of school between grades 6-12.”

— “Number and percentage of students who vote in their local student government elections.”

So somehow the number of teachers with working laptops with the latest and greatest in software will indicate whether racism is defeated in the schools? I hardly think so, and neither does anyone who wasn’t taught by the idiots in the DCSPR school system apparently. It is a nice little piece of bling for the teachers – but I would certainly be interested in knowing how their possesion of a laptop with lots of cool software will make black kids and white kids (any of these left in SF schools?) and hispanic kids not hate each other in subtle and obvious ways.

So at least part of this “initiative” is to get nice toys for the union boys and girls. And can you imagine any more secure and pension-increasing position than to be on the never-ending committee that is to be tasked with defining how schools are to meet criteria that will make them “fully integrated racially, ethnically and socio-economically”? There will need to be subcommittees for race, ethnicity and socio-economic standards with sub-subcommittees based on all the different skin colors that must be accommodated. There will need to be visits to many many different locations in the United States and around the world to see how other cultures interact and define themselves ethnically and racially.  More toys for the boys and girls in a never-ending search for nirvanna. Won’t it be a wonderful day when you can specify just how many left-handed, lesbian, Hispanics of Central American descent are required to define your school as fully integrated? That it will never actually be able to be defined doesn’t mean that spending hundred of thousands of tax dollars in a search for it shouldn’t be undertaken.

Voting in school elections is certainly a great way to prevent racism and classism (?). Interesting that mandating a percentage of left-handed lesbians of Hispanic Central American descent actually be candidates isn’t part of the program yet. But I’m sure that will come after the bureaucrats are done defining just what that percentage means for full integration. And making sure the little turd-producers vote in student elections means that they will get experience in understanding just how futile voting is to changing anything. The popular kids get the positions and the nerds just get laughed at – this is the lesson to be learned from voting in student government elections.  And knowing this will also prevent them from voting in real elections that keep edu-crats in power is a nice side-effect.

And finally, there’s a number that might actually define just how large a potential garbage collector population might exist in the future – dropout rates. What this has to do with preventing racism might say more about the prejudice in those setting up these measurements. However, civilization will always need garbage collectors so making sure that there is a big enough potential pool of applicants by ensuring that the correct percentage of dropouts are present is important for the ongoing maintenance of San Francisco.

I mean honestly – does anybody in their right mind believe that any of these measurements will reduce racism or classism? The rich kids know they are rich and the poor ones will know who has the most toys and money. The color of their skin will separate kids – it did in the past and it will in the future. Its rather hard how to keep these things from happening without blinding every child so they can’t see skin color. And then taking all money from every parent in the Republic and making sure each and very person has exactly the same amount. Funny – but you wouldn’t put the latter past them. And who knows about blinding every child – maybe that’s what they want instead of No Child Left Behind.

The taxpayers money in San Francisco will continue to be wasted effectively according to this plan. Too bad about the poor students who will end up with a diploma they can’t read. But they will be indoctrinated about how their skin color makes them a victim!

He Should Have Criticized San Francisco

An interesting observation from Frank J:

It’s a really horrible idea to denounce Middle America in San Francisco, but luckily the reverse isn’t true. McCain could bash San Francisco all he wants while in Pennsylvania, and that certainly wouldn’t hurt his chances in a national election. Pretty much the whole country considers San Francisco to be full of weird, useless people. The city is a punchline. The only ones who don’t consider it full of freaks are those who live there… and even half of them have to suspect something.

Woman Celebrating Beating Cancer - With a Head Tattoo?

This is what passes for “normal” in the Democratic Communist People’s Republic

President Pantsdown Goes Nuclear

At a meeting of the Politburo in the Democrat Communist People’s Republic of San Francisco:

In fact, before his speech Clinton had one of his famous meltdowns Sunday, blasting away at former presidential contender Bill Richardson for having endorsed Obama, the media and the entire nomination process.

“It was one of the worst political meetings I have ever attended,” one superdelegate said.

But as the group moved together for the perfunctory photo, Rachel Binah, a former Richardson delegate who now supports Hillary Clinton, told Bill how “sorry” she was to have heard former Clinton campaign manager James Carville call Richardson a “Judas” for backing Obama.

It was as if someone pulled the pin from a grenade.

“Five times to my face (Richardson) said that he would never do that,” a red-faced, finger-pointing Clinton erupted.

The former president then went on a tirade that ran from the media’s unfair treatment of Hillary to questions about the fairness of the votes in state caucuses that voted for Obama. It ended with him asking delegates to imagine what the reaction would be if Obama was trailing by just 1 percent and people were telling him to drop out.

Wow – who would have known that Mr. No Sexual Relations With That Woman had a temper like that?  Perhaps if they had watched him go off on Chris Wallace?  Or the hundreds of times that he yelled a the media during his presidency which were never publicly reported?

Way to go Rush.  Operation Chaos continues!

Good Use of Tax Money?

Let’s see, 18 designs and $200,000 already spent. Projected total cost $1 million. And this is for one wheelchair access ramp? Only in the Democratic Communist People’s Republic of San Francisco:

San Francisco should not have to spend $1 million on a wheelchair ramp in the Board of Supervisors chambers to assure equal access for people with disabilities.

There must be less expensive options than the 10-foot ramp that has been through 18 designs and consumed more than $200,000 in planning.

What I’m most shocked about is that Pravda of the Left Coast is saying that this is not a good use of tax money. And why must this million bucks be spent? The Lifetime Employment for Lawyers Act (also known as the ADA). One of the supervisors is a paraplegic and there are only steps up to the podium.

I have an idea for these guys. Hire someone at $80K a year who’s whole job is to stand around and haul any disabled people up and down the steps. Have him buy some plywood and 2×4’s and in his spare time build the fracking ramp. And even with salary, benefits, expenses, vacation time, materials, and everything else you would still be able to get the job done for less than $150K. Even if it took a whole year.

Or just have him haul the disabled up and down and you have a decade’s worth of disability access without changing anything else.

Hey, you self-righteous progressives who chat about blood for oil. How many homeless people could have been fed with the $200,000 already spent on the 18 different designs? Would a million dollars get clean needles and condoms to the entire city for a year?

No ramps for condoms!

You Will Have Tide Power!

Or my name isn’t Gavin McTide Newsom!:

San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom said Tuesday he still wants to submerge giant turbines below the waters of the Golden Gate Bridge as a way to generate energy for the city, despite a study that recently concluded the idea would cost tens of millions of dollars and is not financially feasible.

And this boils the whole eco-fanasty movement down to one representative item. These things would be huge, expensive, and produce power that costs over 1000% more than you can generate elsewhere.

A study paid for by the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission found that the turbines would cost as much as $15 million each and $750,000 a year to maintain.

Power generated from the tides would cost between 80 cents and $1.40 per kilowatt hour, according to the study. Pacific Gas and Electric Co.’s commercial rate for power, for example, is 12 cents per kilowatt hour.

But does that mean anything to Mayor McTide? What does he care – he’s rich. If his electricity bill goes from $3,000 to $30,000 a month it wouldn’t bother him at all. His trust fund generates more than that per day. In fact, he’s already fired one insolent toady who refused to believe in the power of McTide:

The mayor’s push to drop turbines below the bridge became part of the recent controversy surrounding the high-profile firing of San Francisco PUC General Manager Susan Leal, who said she backed away from the proposal when she received the results of the study commissioned by her agency. City Hall insiders said her disagreement with Newsom over the future of tidal power was part of the reason Leal was ousted from her job late last month.

If you refuse to follow in the enlightened green and socialist pathways of the glorious leader you are eliminated to the greater good. Today its mostly figurative (just loss of income and status and such) but tomorrow it will be facing the wall and a bullet through the back of the head. Perhaps they will be as merciful as the Germans during WWII who would allow their Italian execution victims to turn their heads and view the ocean one last time before they were murdered – but since this is a GREEN issue probably not. Kneel down and take it in the back of the head – you denier.

And what’s most impossible about the whole thing is where they are actually proposing to put these huge turbines:

If officials eventually decide to submerge turbines in the bay, the hilly underwater topography in an area east of the Golden Gate Bridge, near the Bay Area Discovery Museum in Sausalito, makes for the best location, the study found.

It has been 8 years since I was in Sausalito, but even back then while walking down the street in the space of 30 minutes we saw two different Rolls Royces. These people are seriously rich liberals. Do you think people with that kind of money are going to sit still and let some Socialist punk from San Francisco drop great big turbines in their ocean and spoil their view? This thing would be litigated until the next Big One shoves most of the place about 20 miles to the west and under water – and probably until the Big One after that as well.

This proposal has as much possibility of being realized as your odds are of finding a tap dancing snake. But pushing the idea sure enhances Mayor McTide’s green credentials.

Tax Somebody Else!

Just too many targets of opportunity in the People’s Republic today.  And we present this liberal twit who whines about fixing roads:

Editor – Why is it that residents of Marin County and San Francisco are being asked to replace a piece of an official U.S. highway?

At the point just before U.S. 101 crosses north, over the Golden Gate Bridge, it is called Doyle Drive, but it is still U.S. 101. Why are local counties being asked to replace a federal highway?

For the amount of money that is spent on the war in Iraq in one and a half weeks, all the repairs and improvements to the U.S. highways, recommended by the Federal Highway Administration, could be made. But that is who is supposed to make the repairs and improvements, the federal government; it’s a federal highway.

Like everything else, President Bush doesn’t want to take responsibility for that either.

San Francisco

Let see:

1.  You are the idiots who drive on the stupid road all the time so why shouldn’t you pay to fix it?

2.  Bush Derangement Syndrome – while I’m sure President Bush thinks about the roads in Marin County as one of his top priorities, why in the world have you and your elected representatives allowed your main transportation artery to deteriorate to some desperate point?  Clean up the turds in your own back yard sister.

3.   Isn’t it nice to believe in the Federal Government road-fixing fairy?  Who apparently will come and apply buckets of money to your roads without it costing you even one penny?  Do YOU pay any federal taxes, Miss Liberal Loony?

4.  I thought liberals loved taxes.  And you can’t get any deeper blue than the Democratic Communist People’s Republic.  Why aren’t you volunteering to re-mortgage your house in order to give the money to the government?  Isn’t that what you want everybody else to do?

Good Liberal Waste of Money

Its nice to know that the Democratic Communist People’s Republic of San Francisco has this kind of money to waste:

In his quest to make San Francisco the greenest city in the nation, Mayor Gavin Newsom recently created a $160,000-a-year job for a senior aide and gave him the ambitious-sounding title of director of climate protection initiatives.

San Francisco has at least two dozen other city employees already working directly on climate issues at a cost to taxpayers of hundreds of thousands of dollars.

In addition to the director of climate protection initiatives in Newsom’s office, San Francisco has an Energy and Climate Program team of eight people in the Department of the Environment, who combined earn more than $800,000 a year in salary and benefits, including a “climate action coordinator.” At least 12 San Francisco Public Utilities Commission staff members work on climate issues related to water and energy, including a $146,000-a-year “projects manager for the climate action plan.”

Also in the name of climate control, the Municipal Transportation Agency has a “manager of emissions reductions and sustainability programs” who works on making Muni’s bus fleet greener, and the San Francisco International Airport has a “manager of environmental services” who oversees such projects as the installation of energy-efficient lighting and solar panels.

The list doesn’t include the scores of staff members who work on broader environmental policies, like the recently hired $130,700-a-year “greening director” in Newsom’s office, or Jared Blumenfeld, who earns $207,500 a year in salary and benefits as the head of the city’s Environment Department, which has a staff of 65 and annual budget of about $14 million.

And you know you have completely gone off the deep end when the flipping Green Party commissioner questions what is going on:

“Although it sounds very well intentioned, and perhaps even necessary, I’m concerned this is a case where eco-chic has gone out of control,” said Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi, the only Green Party member on the Board of Supervisors.

And the evidence continues to build that the whole global warming hysteria is a) religious in nature and b) a scheme for smart hustlers to shake down taxpayers.

9th Circus – Screw America, We Want Whales

and the most overturned appeals court (I believe the circuit court mention in the clip is incorrect), will again be overruled by the Supremes. But it will again take time and money. It does prove their complete and utter contempt for anything other than their own power.

And our favorite 9th circuit court in San Francisco rules that the Navy is not exempt from the Environmental Act that prohibits the use of sonar in the area. Even after the president signed an executive order to exempt the Navy from the act. In other words, any enemy submarine like, you know, Iranian, North Korean, Chinese, Russian, etc, etc, etc could set in this 12 mile area (which is huge in terms of sea searches) waiting to bomb the crud out of the United States and the Navy is prohibited from using sonar to detect them in that space in order to protect the whales.
