How Many Racists?

I know this isn’t even close to the entire list, but here’s a few that have come to my attention:

Andy Ostroy at the Puffington Place

there’s a raging disdain and disrespect for this president unseen in U.S. political history. And it’s because he’s black. I’ll say it again: it’s because he’s black. Carter has served America well by calling us as a nation out on it.

We racists also are thankful for Peanut Jim, but mostly because he is such a wonderful example of liberal doofusness.

Glenn W Smith:

The party’s faithful, which sadly includes many angry racists, continue to engage in hate talk.

Of course, Glenn goes to his wonderful imaginary place where some violence occurs which will fill him with joy:

But I have to ask:  don’t many of us have the sense that the racist anger will continue to grow, or to grow louder, until some tragedy occurs? Will it take the deaths of young innocents?

They really do get to the point of seeming to want a martyr don’t they?

As Hot Air notes – Joel Klein is almost beyond parody any more:

Since I was one of the early racism-shouters here on Swampland, and on the Chris Matthews show last Sunday, I probably should explain why “this conversation” is heading in the wrong direction.

But most of all, they are freaked by an amorphous feeling that they America they imagined they were living in–Sarah Palin’s fantasy America–is a different place now, changing for the worse, overrun by furriners of all sorts: Latinos, South Asians, East Asians, homosexuals…to say nothing of liberated, uppity blacks.

Just one question – why is it you never hear the word uppity unless its from a liberal?

Black Hole now a racist term?

well, look at the firestorm over the use of niggardly. Soon the dictionary is going to be about 3 pages long as that is all the vocabulary anyone will have. Duuuuude!, Radical, Awesome, Fine, Like, and “where’s my government check” will be all that the population will know.

A special meeting about Dallas County traffic tickets turned tense and bizarre this afternoon.
County commissioners were discussing problems with the central collections office that is used to process traffic ticket payments and handle other paperwork normally done by the JP Courts.
Commissioner Kenneth Mayfield, who is white, said it seemed that central collections “has become a black hole” because paperwork reportedly has become lost in the office.
Commissioner John Wiley Price, who is black, interrupted him with a loud “Excuse me!” He then corrected his colleague, saying the office has become a “white hole.”
That prompted Judge Thomas Jones, who is black, to demand an apology from Mayfield for his racially insensitive analogy.
Mayfield shot back that it was a figure of speech and a science term. A black hole, according to Webster’s, is perhaps “the invisible remains of a collapsed star, with an intense gravitational field from which neither light nor matter can escape.”

Turd Burd McCain

This fripping idiot is only happy when he’s criticizing Republicans:

Republican U.S. presidential candidate John McCain accused North Carolina’s Republican Party of being “out of touch with reality” over its refusal to pull an advertisement criticizing Democrat Barack Obama.

In an NBC interview aired on Friday, the Arizona senator said he has done all he can to persuade the state party to cancel the television ad that criticizes Obama as “too extreme” because of controversial remarks made by his former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

“They’re not listening to me because they’re out of touch with reality and the Republican Party. We are the party of Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt and Ronald Reagan and this kind of campaigning is unacceptable,” McCain told NBC’s “Today” Show.

But this video from Redstate Update gives the McCain slogan (content warning for language):

Pastor’s Page Racism

From the Pastor’s Page of the church bulletin 10 June 2007 of Trinity United Church of Christ – Rev. Dr. Jerimiah A. Wright, Jr. Senior Pastor:

I must tell you that Israel was the closest ally
to the White Supremacists of South Africa. In
fact, South Africa allowed Israel to test its nuclear
weapons in the ocean off South Africa. The
Israelis were given a blank check: they could test
whenever they desired and did not even have to
ask permission. Both worked on an ethnic bomb
that kills Blacks and Arabs.

Now this is not identified as being written by the Reverend Doctor Wright–it comes from Ali Baghdadi, an Arab-American activist, writer, columnist; worked with several African-American groups on civil and human rights issues since the mid sixties; acted as a Middle East advisor to the Honorable Elijah Muhammad the founder of the Nation of Islam, as well as Minister Louis Farrakhan–but its in his name, isn’t it?

And this is the spiritual adviser to someone who wants to be President of the United States?

Reason Number 1 To Start Enforcing Immigration Laws

From Andres Oppenheimer:

The rapid escalation of U.S. anti-immigration hysteria – fueled by ratings-hungry cable-television hotheads and leading Republican presidential hopefuls – is a dangerous trend: It may lead to a Latino intifada with the potential to rock this nation in the not-so-distant future.

If we are not careful, we may see something similar coming from the estimated 13 million undocumented immigrants in the United States, most of them Latino, who are increasingly vilified in the media, forced further into the underground by spineless politicians and not given any chance to legalize their status by a pusillanimous U.S. Congress.

We are creating an underclass of people who won’t leave this country and, realistically, can’t be deported. They and their children are living with no prospect of earning a legal status, no matter how hard they work for it. Many of them will become increasingly frustrated, angry, and some of them eventually may turn violent.

A couple of things I note right off the bat:

1.  There is an absolute and utter refusal to recognize the majority American view that people who came here illegally don’t deserve any “path to citizenship” or amnesty or whatever you want to call it.

2.  Villifying politicians who actually support this majority American view is perfectly fine.

3.  Its Republican’s fault.  Note that Republicans are called out as a party while only “politicans” are blamed for the current inability for illegals to flaunt our laws and just decide to stay here forever.  (just what party is in charge of Congress?  Was there a majority vote in either house for amnesty?)

4.  Threats  of racial violence are justified if a brown-skinned, Spanish-speaking minority is doing the threatening.  However, actually enforcing laws is racist.

And that’s just the first few paragraphs.  I leave it as an exercise for the intelligent to guess at the rest of this racist little polemic.  Children of illegals are citizens, statistics from La Raza (perhaps the most racist Latino group), comparing illegal immigrants to people who get traffic tickets, calling everyone who opposes illegals racists, blah blah blah.

Honestly I didn’t try to review the whole thing here.  I did send this idiot this email:

I must say that your column points out the desperate need for the United States to secure its borders and to start working to find and expel those who have come here illegally.  If, as you assert, there is a large group of people who have broken our laws to come here and WON’T leave, then we will need to start making them do so.

I believe that stopping the flow of new immigrants and actually enforcing the laws on employment verification will go a long way toward getting a handle on the problem.  Of course, these law breakers will be assisted in every way by people like you who apparently wish to see America overrun and balkanized.  Democrat politicians who think that pandering to illegals by giving them drivers licenses and welfare money will mean that they will get their votes (illegals who vote?  who cares in this view) or at least their vocal support for more tax money to be taken from citizens and given to those who have broken our laws every single day.

I know that your efforts to undermine America and the society that we have worked and shed blood for over the last 200 years is something that you will continue to support.  Also know that there are a lot of people who will oppose you with the same daily energy and effort.  The reason you have to be so shrill is that you don’t have sole ownership of the media microphone any more.  Which means that our views are actually being heard and represent a large part of America.

Yours in eternal opposition.
