Do we actually have a Republican Senator who gets it? Sounds like Mitch McConnell might:
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, in a likely preview of the Republican line of attack in the general election, said Democratic leaders and Mr. Obama “get up every morning with three things on their minds: more taxes, more regulation and more litigation.”
“It’s pretty clear to me that the Democratic agenda is to turn us into France,” the Kentucky Republican told The Washington Times in an unusually blunt interview at his office in the Capitol. “Americans may want change, but the question is, what kind of change?”
Fourteen House Democrats, including eight committee chairmen, said yesterday that they will file a brief supporting a legal challenge to the Bush administration’s plans to finish building 470 miles of fencing and other barriers on the U.S.-Mexico border by the end of the year.
Homeland Security Committee Chairman Bennie G. Thompson (D-Miss.) led the group, which includes the heads of the energy and commerce, transportation, intelligence, education, rules, and veteran affairs panels.
Defenders of Wildlife and the Sierra Club asked the Supreme Court last month to review whether the administration’s decision to waive environmental laws to finish the fence is constitutional. That waiver was approved by the Republican-led Congress in 2005.
Do you believe this is really about environmental issues?
This is an outright and blatant push to overturn the legislative will of the vast majority of the American people - because these twits somehow think that this will get them the illegal immigrant vote. That they think there IS an illegal immigrant vote also says a lot about their push to prevent people from having to provide identification at the polls.
At some point the American people will become fed up with this continual push to use the courts to overturn the express will of the people and their representatives. Fourteen Democrat congressmen can sue and stop the government from fulfilling the wishes of the people? They can tie this issue up in the courts for decades - and what do they care? They don’t live next to the border with people running through their lands, stealing things, defecating on the ground and shooting at anyone who might interfere with them. They live in nice gated communities with walls and alarm systems and peace and quiet.
I sure wish I could think of good things like these from Frank J:
Now, the most obvious solution is putting them in some sort of cage with weaponry where only one leaves. I don’t think this will work for the Democrats, though, because they won’t think Obama with his saccharine message of hopey change can stand up to the vicious Hillary who has long thirsted for his blood. Instead, they need to compete on a plane Democrats are more familiar with.
How about they are each given a billion dollars in tax money, and whoever spends it all the first wins. They can’t just spend it on military weaponry (and, being Democrats, they wouldn’t want to), and instead have to spend it all on wasteful, counterproductive social programs. That would prove which one of them is the most hardcore Democrat.
Also, they could get a group of foreigners and Obama and Hillary could compete on who could befriend the most. Having foreigners like us is of the utmost concern to Democrats.
Disgraced former Gov. Eliot Spitzer has been identified as a long-standing client of a second high-priced call-girl ring, The Post has learned.
At the center of the new ring is Kristin “Billie” Davis, a busty bottle blonde who hails from a rough-and-tumble California trailer park. She has a reputation for hard-partying, shameless self-promotion and a rumored 10,000-name-long client list.
Davis’ alleged multimillion-dollar empire was smashed by city vice cops as she made plans to skip town. Prosecutors say she netted some $2 million last year by pimping out ladies of the night for as much as $1,000 an hour through four Web sites.
Only a thousand bucks an hour? Its good to know that he wasn’t spending his whole children’s college fund on the high-priced whores. I wonder if this will cause a second wave of “prostitution is a victimless crime” and “what difference does it make if he cheats” stories in the press.
1. Consumer confidence stood at a 5-year high;
2. Regular gasoline averaged under $2.30 a gallon;
3. The unemployment rate was down to 4.4%.
4. Americans were enjoying historically-high home equity.

Since voting in a Democrat Congress in 2006 we have seen:
Jordan’s story on the indictment of Congressman William Jefferson (D-LA) made no direct reference to his party affiliation (the standalone undated print version is here with Lara Jakes’s byline; the indicated authors of the same story dated June 4, 2007 are Lara Jakes Jordan and Matthew Barakat).
Jordan instead required curious readers to make it to the ninth paragraph, and then to infer that Jefferson must be a member of the same party as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi:
A former congressional candidate convicted of faking his disappearance after a car crash two years ago said Thursday the verdict was devastating, but said the case isn’t over.
Look for Paragraph 4 to note that he was a Democrat Candidate for Congress
People want, as the Obamamaniacs tell us, “change.” I say, go for it. Fight terrorism with a universal healthcare plan. Go ahead and make it prohibitively and artificially expensive to hire new people to a business or, God forbid, start a new business. Give ALL the money and power to our trial lawyers. Take all our guns away and punish violent crime with a finger-waggling and wrist-slapping or two, if you punish it at all. Pay criminals money to not misbehave. Negotiate with tyrants around the world — no exceptions. Let me know how that works out.
I encourage you to read the whole article - a very well thought-out defense of conservatism in a time of McCain. Does America need to be shown just how illogical, impractical, and self-defeating liberalism is every generation?
Do we need to just shut up and do what the Republican Party elders tell us to - regardless of whether it is good for the country or not? Just because Obambi and the Hildebeast would be so much worse?
A happy conservative living in Monument, Colorado. Living an extremely good life through the wonderful influence of my wife, my family, and a country that has continued to provide me with opportunities to excel.
