OK – what’s weirder? That somebody used a Bat’leth to rob a 7-11, or that somebody recognized it as a Bat’leth?

clipped from www.gazette.com It may be a galactic first — a Colorado Springs 7-Eleven convenience store robbed early today by a man wielding a Klingon Bat’leth blade. It’s the weapon of choice for the war-like race on “Star Trek,” but fairly rare in stickups on Earth. A convenience store clerk told police that a robber in a dark jacket and a black mask wielded the long, curved blade invented for the science fiction franchise that grew out of the 1960s television series. Police said the weapon – which is held with both hands in the center and at least four of five feet long – seems ill suited to robbing gas stations. “I can’t imagine it’s very easy to conceal,” Tobias said. Police said the man got away with cash after robbing a 7-Eleven at 145 N Spruce St. at about 1:45 a.m. A second attempt about a half-hour later ended when he ran away from another 7-Eleven store at 2407 N. Union Blvd. Police say the “uniqueness” of the weapon will likely be key to their investigation.

Democrats Not Happy Hanging With The Uncool

Barney Frank tell the bankers they aren’t ready-for-prime-time:

“People really hate you, and they’re starting to hate us because we’re hanging out with you. And you have to help us deal with that.”

The financial institutions that need congressional help “need to avoid being stupid,” Frank told reporters Tuesday during a briefing on his agenda as chairman of the House Financial Services Committee.

I mean Barney and The Utra-Hip, Ultra-Screwup Messiah are not happy having to deal with actual work things like banks and loans and assets.  They want to ditch the ugly kid with the warts and just spend money and get all the hot chicks.  Well, maybe Barney isn’t into that last thing.  I think his current boyfriend is still working at the Fed.
